The Gorn River Valley, Part 6

Part six of my ongoing campaign over discord, set in the Gorn river valley of my world. We find our two adventurers tied up in the middle of two factions, one trying to starve the other out. Read from part 1 for the whole story. This session starts right after combat with the injured kobold Rottherd.

Shawn - Va’lar would fall down next to Rottherd, clutching his own wounds as they both caught their breath “was that all of them?”

DM - "Can't see more, Can't hear more." He says, holding a hand to his head. Blood pours through his fingers and another kobold rushes over with a scrap of wagon canvas. Rottherd motions to you with his free hand "Arm hurt?"

Shawn - “You heard me talk, you’ll be fine” he says laughing a bit, wincing at the pain “it’s not that bad, I’ve been hit harder.... you fight well, any man I know wouldn’t be talking after a hit like that”

Todd - "Yeah, this man has survived many worm bites"

DM - "Can't hear well" He says to you while the white curly haired kobold is wrapping up his head. The kobold looks at his head a moment and touches it a bit and Rottherd whines softly before turning to you two "Va'lar is quick with weapon and Mikkel sling fast."

Todd - Mikkel smiles but then it fades when his eyes connect to the dead dwarves. "So what are we going to about these fellows" he says while pointing at the bodies.

Shawn - “We can take their armor to sell, their weapons could be put to good use by whoever doesn’t have any. Aside from that, we could bury the bodies, I’d say give them to the dwarves so they can do whatever their rites are, but I doubt that we should be helping them...Terriherd, they called you guys the invaders, and seem to know Rottgerd, was there always conflict between you?” Va’lar speaks as he lifts his arm for the docbold to bandage

DM - Terriherd shakes his head "Like I said, when we fled our den we dug into these caves. We can't go back so we must settle here. Rottherd and I tried to talk to them, but they became violent and attacked us. We followed them up the stairs to fight, and that's when they collapsed the stairs behind us and separated us from the mothers and children."

The kobold walks over to you and loosely wraps your arm with a piece of canvas too. You immediately realize he doesn't know what he is really doing, merely mimicking field care.

A kobold with short pointed ears and a brown and black coloration walks over to Mikkel, interested in the sling he has.

Terriherd continues, "We tried to dig the stone ourselves but we can't get into it with hands alone, and the pole arms are not enough to crack them."

Shawn - Va'lar would shake his head a bit "You, you need to cut the cloth a bit smaller, don't just wrap it, here, like this" He would unravel the fabric and proceed to redo it, tearing a piece off and doing it correctly, least halfway before needing help tying it "Put that piece under that one and pull tight, I'll show you how to redo Rottherds as well, don't want my friend hurting much more than he has" As Docbold helps with his arm Va'lar and the two work on Rottherd He'd speak more with Terriherd "That one knew Rottherd by name, how is that?

Todd - Mikkel imitates making an attack first in a slower motion, secondly in a normal pace with his sling. He cocks his head to the interested kobold, "Think you can do that?"

DM - "We tried to talk to them, introduced our pack. When they attacked us they killed his child, injured his lover. We don't know if she is still alive." Terriherd says, and Rottherd turns away as he does.

You find that Rottherd's ear is barely hanging on, cut badly and being the source of all the blood.

The kobold with Mikkel lets out a "Ruff" and takes the sling from his hands, trying to imitate the motion. It looks like good form to Mikkel, with some practice he could probably use the sling.

Shawn - Would gently rub Rottherds shoulder as he heard this "I'm sorry to hear that Rotth, I promise you, and everyone else here we will help get your family back....and I'm sorry to say this friend but I don't think your ear is going to stay attatched, might be best to cut it all the way off so it doesn't get infected, or just fall off later... But at least you'll look fierce, Rottherd the one eared, taking down waves of dwarfs at a time"

DM - Rottherd smiles a canine smile, "Cut it, don't need two anyways."

Shawn - Va'lar reaches over  and takes Mikkels dagger, and in a fluid motion slices the ear right off, before doing his best to bandage the head up, taking his time to show the Docbold how to do it "This needs to be changed out for a new one next moon, if not he may get sick.." Standing up he patted Rottherd on the shoulder again "Well Rottherd the one eared, I need to talk with Terriherd bout the dwarfs, get some rest" He says before walkign to a more secluded place "Do you think a peace is possible? Would you be willing to share with them? I did not know we were up against dwarfs, I will still stand by your side, but these creatures are known to be tough "

Todd - Mikkel will try to salvage his launched bullets and hands the bloodied rocks to the slingster in the making.

DM - Rottherd grimaces as you cut, then nods at the idea of resting. Patched up he lays down in the corner.

"They don't want us here, they want us dead. I don't think peace is possible but it's because of them. We can share the space, we are willing." Terriherd says after he takes you to the middle room against the southern wall, where the collapsed stairway is.

The kobold takes the stone and slings a rock into the dimness of the room. It seems to go where he wants it, before ricocheting off the wall and splitting against the floor

Shawn - "Do you know why they may be opposed to having you here? They mentioned that you should've starved by now, is there no food here?"

Todd - Mikkel shrugs, "Good shot, you will be splitting skulls soon. But I must ask, before us where did you gather your meat?"

DM - "We don't have any, we used to get meat outside the cave we lived in but we've been stuck down here. You helped us with the fresh meat, that's the only we're alive still." Terriherd says, looking at the collapsed stairs. "They seem territorial, We are in their home after all."

The kobold before Mikkel looks at you and tilts his head and points up.

Shawn - "What is we attempted to move you all out of this cave? There's a forest near by, we could get some axes and help clear out a space for you all to live peacefully, well at least as peacefully as one can in this world, there'll always be things out there looking for a fight."

Todd - "Do you miss the outside?" Mikkel asks also pointing up.

DM - "We could find a new den, we need to live away from humans, they don't like our kind. Usually."

The kobold whines a bit and looks down. He turns to Mikkel and tilts his head before pointing at you and then up once more.

Shawn - "You're the first of your kind we have met that have been so friendly. We do try and avoid fights when possible, but, not everyone shares our kindness. The forest is large, we may not find a den, but could be deep in the forest if you wish, could dig yourselfs a new one as well if need be"

DM - "We usually don't like humans, but we needed help this time. We're both lucky our pack and you two met when we did." Terriherd says before looking at your arm. "You need rest before we do anything. We can find a new den but we need to rescue the mothers and children before that."

Todd - "I...think I understand. Say, where do you keep the supplies? I was considering making traps. Like a hidden weapon against the fur men"

Shawn - "I'm grateful both me and Rottherd were of calm mind that night, or one of us wouldn't be here right now, and seeing how well he fought I don't know who would've won... And of course, I need to heal, and we will try and firgure out the best way to free your family. We can get pickaxes from town, they work well for breaking rocks"

DM - The kobold tilts his head again, then points to the room near the north east corner.

Terriherd nods his head, "What are pickaxes?"

Todd - "Okay. Do you keep bones somewhere? Like the big sharp parts?" Mikkel will say slowly while pointing at his ribs

Shawn - Brings out his own ax "Sort of like this, but the metal is long and pointed like this" He draws one out in the dirt "The sharp point chips away at the rocks, Like a large metal claw"

DM - The kobold points to the fire when you mention ribs, and licks his lips.

"I see, that's what the men brought with them when they took over our den." Terriherd says. "They are used to dig?"

Todd - "I see..." Mikkel says before heading to the north eastern room.

Shawn - Nods a bit, lifting his hand up and showing his finger tips "We don't have claws like you do, can't dig well without tools. Pickaxes are good for breaking hard rocks, and we use shovels for digging a hole...a shovel is...Like a bowl on a stick, I think Mikkel has one if you are interested... How far away was your home from here?"

DM - Reaching the north eastern door the dim light barely reaches Mikkel. The door is closed when you approach.

Terriherd thinks for a moment "Further than we could run all day. Very far."

Shawn - "How long have you all been in these caves? What do you all know about with the magic in the moon room?

DM - "We've been here since a couple days before the wagon fell in. We don't know anything about the magic except that it glows when the moon light hits it. The dwarves get really nervous about that."

Shawn - "Is that the only room in here with those markings on it?"

DM - "The only one we have been in, yes. There are still places we haven't been."

Todd - Mikkel tries to open the door, looking as casual as can be.

DM - The door opens easily, but you can't see much in the dark room.

Todd - Mikkel takes out his flint and steel to make little sparks of light.

DM - With the sparks you see a 30x30 room with another hall in the middle of the eastern wall, directly opposite of where you are. You also see a silhouette, then recognize it as a dwarve. He is looking down at the ground, standing kind of slumped.

Shawn - "When they dwarfs attacked you, did anything happen to provoke it? You said you showed them your pack, how long were they peaceful before they attacked"

Todd - Mikkel will slowly walk 10 feet towards the slumping dwarf then whisper "Hey, what's wrong?"

DM - As you start to slowly enter you feel thin string, web like, drag across your body. The ends are weighted somehow, and the dwarve does not respond to your whisper.

Todd - Mikkel gulps and begins to walk back from whence he came at the same slow speed.

DM - "When we realized there was other creatures in the cave we dug into, we rested for a time and met them. After a short talk about living here they got their polearms and attacked us." Terriherd says to you.

Mikkel backing up slowly makes it out of the room, the strings dragging again over your shoulders and head.

Todd - "Damn..." Mikkel says. He will slowly duck his head and check if the string is still there.

Shawn - "I want to try and talk to them, but I'm worried if they know I and with you they will attack on sight"

DM - Mikkel finds that the strings swing back into the room once he leaves.

"Only one way to find out, Va'lar. You can try to talk to them once you heal up, and run back here if things go wrong. "

Todd - Mikkel breathes a sigh of relief and begins making his way around to find his human companion.

Shawn - "Hopefully the rest of this night will be uneventful,  I can hear my stomach yelling at me, I'm going to go and eat some of that meat and get some rest. Thank you Terriherd"

DM - Terriherd nods and leaves the room with you before going and talking with Rottherd. Va'lar sees Mikkel by the fire, looking around a bit.

Todd - Mikkel drops to a whisper "Supply room is trapped, might need actual permission from the leadership"

Shawn - Will walk over to Mikkel and sit down, wincing in pain a bit "Dwarfs huh? Never thought I'd see one up close"

Todd - "Saw another...limp one, used as bait in the trap I mentioned"

Shawn - "Trapped? What were you trying to get from there? "

Todd - "Nothing in particular, considered making traps for our allies here. I'm not sure we can keep doing battles like before at a constant rate."

Shawn - "They dwarfs are smart, the way they held that hallway, I'm sure they know all the tricks to fighting in here, we need to be smart to keep from dying. Traps would be helpful. They are scared of the moon room though, least when then moonlight hits it."

Todd - "Say...Do you think we could remove and use the runes?"

Shawn - "Remove them how?"

Todd - "Chisels, pickaxes?"

Shawn - "They may mean something to the drawfs, if we destroy them it may not end well for us"

Todd - "Hrmmmm. All of this started with a wagon...do you want to actually talk with these people? Preferably without the dogmen?"

Shawn - "The Kobolds were here before the wagon fell in, they dug into here because they were forced out of their old den by men. They came here, talked to the dwarfs and upon mentioning staying here they were attacked. Least that it was Terriherd told me. I would like to talk to the dwarfs, but we need to be ready. I was thinking once I'm back in fighting shape we come down here with some pickaxes, free the family, and then go to talk to the dwarfs, we can set up some traps along one of the hallways leading to this cavern incase we need to flee back here for saftey"

Todd - "Sounds perfect"

Shawn - "While we are gone we should see if these guys can make any spikes for pitfall traps. Oh, we also need to keep bringing them food, Terriherd said there's no food here. May need to get sacks of food from the market, the farmer probably will start asking question if I buy more livestock from him"

Todd - "We could hunt some deer too perhaps. They can borrow my shovel unless they can dig fast like actual dogs"

Shawn - I can't be going out with this wound, need to rest properly

Todd - "I understand. I can gather and do 'chores' while you're resting."

Shawn - Nods a bit "I will help bring food here, but going on a hunting trip won't help me one bit, now lets eat and rest "

DM - You two eat from the mule, finding a comfortable place to sit and rest. A half hour passes, then the kobolds perk up and sniff at the air. Terriherd jumps to his feet and looks at the northern hallway. "Something's coming"

Todd - Mikkel reaches for his sling...but instead goes for his sword instead noticing the ranged weapon's absence.

Shawn - Will ready his axe in one hand, a halberd in the other

DM - A moment passes, and six flat lizards crawl into the room from the northern hallway, along the walls and roof. They climb into darkness as they go to the roof, two left visible on the walls near the entrance.

Shawn - Holds still, not wanting to get into a fight if not needed, and to see how the kobolds react

DM - The kobolds stand ready, holding their weapons at the ready. "Don't let them bite you, they will kill you with one bite" Terriherd says, worry in his voice.

Shawn - Va'lar nods a bit, tightening his grip on his weapon "I'll keep that in mind heh"

Todd - "Hey slingster, you're going to need ammo" Mikkel shouts with a handful of bullets in his offhand.

DM - The kobold makes his way over to you, reaching for the sling bullets.

A few moments pass, the lizards don't move and the kobolds just stand watching them.

Shawn - Will continue the stalemate, already injured and not wanting to be the one to start fighting

Todd - Mikkel will slowly walk towards Rottherd with his sword ready.

DM - Rottherd the one eared stands ready with his sword, looking at you as you approach.

Todd - "Just want to keep you alive, that's all"

Shawn - In a whisper "Will they attack, or just, watch?"

DM - "Watch usually" Terriherd says, not whispering.

Shawn - "Well lets hope they enjoy watching and aren't looking for a snack...We can't see in the dark, are the others above us?"

DM - "Four above, over the hallway they came in here by." Terriherd says, keeping his gaze on the area.

Shawn - "You think they will take the dead dwarfs and leave us alone?"

DM - "They had to pass them to get in here." He says, moving a bit watching the place above the hallway.

Shawn - Will keep his eyes on the two he can see "Please let me know if the ones up there move"

Todd - "They'll be cut in half if they close enough"

DM - As you say that, the four lizards from the darkness land on the floor with a slapping sound and the two on the walls climb into the darkness above you.

Todd - "Well, they chose death"

Shawn - Holds his ax up, ready to throw it if one charges

Shawn - "Rottherd stay back, someone stay close and protect him"

Todd - Mikkel launches a dagger at the lizard north east of his position.

DM - The dagger flies through the air and clatters on the stone floor, scaring the lizard who stands broad side and lifts his leg at you.

Todd - "Drat! Let's see if you land a bullet where my dagger missed!"

Shawn - "Rottherd fall back behind them" He'd yell out pointing to the Back left corner of the room

DM - The bullet flies true, striking the lizard in the top of it's head and instantly kills the creature.

Rottherd, injured and not wanting to be hurt moves back from the fire.

Todd - Mikkel moves southeast 10 feet while drawing his sword with a focused gaze on the lizards.

DM - As Va'lar and Rottherd retreat, Mikkel moves forward and watches as the lizards are scared by the snap of the sling and begin to flee down the northern hallway, crawling back into the darkness. Some kobolds move to follow to the hallway opening, stopping and watching the lizards in the dark.

Todd - Mikkel begins to creep up and grab his fallen dagger.

Shawn - Va'lar spits towards the lizards "Run away or we'll kill the lot of you" he'd yell out beforfe patting the slingbold on the back "Hell of a shot. Do, do you guys have this intruders often"

DM - You retrieve your dagger, near the dead lizard. The sling bullet cracked it's skull cleanly, a nice hit.

"Go hallway here, often" the kobold says as he nods.

Todd - Mikkel, if not interrupted will begin to saw the lizard's head off with his dagger.

Shawn - Rubbing his bandaged arm he'd turn to Terriford "It might be best for us to get out of here tonight, we won't be much useto you all dead.

DM - None of the kobolds stop Mikkel as he works. Terriherd looks at Va'lar, "That's a good idea. Do you want us to lead you to the moon room?"

Todd - Mikkel will then pry the sling bullet out of the lizard's head then search for a suitable piece of wood from the fire to use for a stake.

DM - Mikkel finds the longest stick he can, about 4 feet long, that is charred only on one end.

Shawn - Nods a bit "Yeah, those things may still be near by. It will take a few days for us to get all the goods, but I can stil bring some food for all of you if you want, every night like I have been"

DM - Terriherd looks to the lizard "We should be okay for a few days. We'll take care of the dwarves too. Are you ready to go now?"

Shawn - "okay then, lets get some of the armor off these drwafs, can make more money and see bout what else we can bring down here for you...But Terriford, I think that moving out of the cave once we save your family would be the best move for you all. Think about it and talk it over with your tribe"As he speaks he'll start stripping two of the dwarfs "Do you think you could carry these for us? My arm is hurting and  would like to rest it before the walk back to town" He says to whichever bolds are nearby

DM - Two kobolds nod and help carry the armors. Terriherd takes the polearms from the dwarves and carries them into the large room, mulling over your words. Rottherd comes over with his polearm in hand with three other armed kobolds, ready to help you leave.

Shawn - Va'lar shakes his head "Thank you friend, but you need to rest, you're in no shape to fight"

DM - Rottherd looks at you for a moment. "I stay. Be safe Va'lar and Mikkel." he says with a slight whine to his voice. He turns and walks back to the fire and lays down.

Shawn - Smiles a bit, giving him a small nod "You as well Rottherd, we will be back soon, rest well friend" He'd say before going to leave

Todd - Mikkel drives his lizard head stake into the ground facing the direction its kin fled to. "Sweet dreams Rottherd" he says before following Va'lar out

DM - With the stake wedged between the stones, the pack moves forward, north into the hallway and the darkness. Two armed kobolds in front of you, one behind, with the kobolds carrying the armor in the middle with both of you.

Shawn - VA'LAR WILL STOP THEM AND LIGHT A TORCH BEFORE THE GET TOO FAR INTO THE DARKNESS

DM - Taking a pause you strike your flint and steel, the sparks have trouble getting a hold of the torch and many miss as you try to light it.

Shawn - "Sorry guys, I forgot to light my torch, we humans ccan't see in the dark like you lot" He'd say laughing a bit before back tracking a bit

Todd - Mikkel forces out a laugh too.

DM - Taking a few steps back into the light you're able to light the torch easily, remembering you only have a few left, and continue into the hallway.

Shawn - Now leaves on the journey out "Do you giys often have a fire to cook your food? From what I've seen Kobolds usually don't eat cooked meat"

DM - "We like taste. Cooking fire from cage on the wagon. Not cook often." a kobold explains as you walk. You make it down the hallway and make the turn left, reaching the edge of the room with runes.

Todd - Mikkel will stop to listen in on any odd sounds.

Shawn - "If you like taste then I can bring down some spices, they make food taste real good, just have to be sure there's a fire for us to comeback to"

DM - Mikkel hears squeaking in the distance, but it's hard to determine the location. It seems safe here. "Good meat, bring spice. We try fire." He says and licks his chops.

Shawn - Looks around the room, to see if is anything glowing

DM - The moon overhead isn't visible, the light it casts doesn't reach the ground of the room yet.

Todd - Mikkel makes a nervous gulp.

Shawn - Makes his way over to the rope dangling down "We can take to armor now, but can use some help getting up, every seen a pulley before? Real helpful with moving heavy stuff up and down"

DM - The kobolds don't know what to say, and the two with the armor tilt their heads to the side. The three armed kobolds stand watching the hallways around you, guarding.

Todd - Mikkel stretches and gives himself a quick mental pep-talk before starting the strenuous task of climbing up the rope.

DM - Mikkel starts to climb the rope, making it up a few feet before he slips and slides back down.

Todd - Our Thief bites his lip and tries to climb once more.

Shawn - "Helps if you don't let go"

DM - Trying again Mikkel makes it up further than before, about 8 feet, before he looses his grip again and having to slide down the rope.

Todd - Mikkel wipes his sweaty brow, then carefully takes out his chainmail from the backpack which has been banging against his back. With another stretching session he attempts to climb the rope again.

DM - Mikkel, now lighter, makes a quick shimmy up the rope and climbs out of the hole.

Todd - Mikkel will take a very cautious scan of his surroundings before he starts work on his pulley.

Shawn - Va'lar would then take the loose chain mail and loop the rope through them all before tying the backpack to it as well, giving the rope a quick tug to signal it's good to pull out

DM - The woods are dark and quiet, nothing seems to move around you. A cool breeze blows over you which is refreshing from the hot and damp cave you were in. You're able to loop the rope through the pulley and slide back the side cover. You'll be able to walk backwards and pull the rope now, making the job easy to do. Mikkel feels a tug at the rope once he is finished.

Todd - With a smile Mikkel begins to walk backwards with arms on the rope fishing some items up.

DM - Va'lar watches as the chainmail and backpack start to rise, quickly making it to the top of the cavern. Mikkel feels the armors and backpack hit the edge of the opening.

Todd - Mikkel will tie his end of the rope he's pulled up onto a sturdy branch or the trunk very carefully and tight. After a few test tugs to ensure the safety of the rope Mikkel then goes to the edge of the cavern to pick up the contents attached to the rope.

Todd - After unhooking/looping the items and setting them down at the trunk of the tree Mikkel will undo his knots and binds, constantly looking over to make sure nobody is creeping up on him.

Shawn - Snuffs the torch out before taking the rope and tying it around his waist, looking to wear the Kobolds were standing "We will be back in two moons, try to avoid any more conflict with the fur till then. If you can, meet us in the tunnel on the second moon." He'd say before giving the rop a few tugs

DM - Va'lar hears a kobold in the darkness as he begins being pulled up "Two moons, meet in tunnel. See you"

Mikkel pulls at the rope after feeling the tugs, moving the heavier load up and near the hole.

Va'lar watches the moon light come nearer, spotting the edge of the hole he'll need to grab to get out.

Shawn - Once he was closer to the hole he'd grab the edge and scramble out of the hole

DM - Va'lar is able to climb out with no issue, seeing Mikkel near the tree the rope is attached to.

Todd - "Nice to see ya up here"

Shawn - nods a bit "Same, I was thinking we need to be back here sooner, I don't know how long their family will last if they are trapped down there" He'd say before taking out a flint and trying to light the torch back up

DM - Sparks fly as you try to light the torch, after a few moments you light it. Safely out of the hole you are able to gather the armor and pack before heading back to town.

Shawn - Walks back to town

DM - You return to the public house, battered and bruised. As you enter you find a few people playing cards late into the evening. Mikkel recognizes one of them as the man with two earrings he saw before. Va'lar spots the woman who served him before resting on the bar, leaning on her elbows and trying to stay awake.

Todd - Mikkel approaches the fence with a two scratches of the chin to signal 'a money earning opportunity'

Shawn - Will follow Mikkel, wondering where his pal is going

DM - The fence leans back, covering his mouth coughs as he looks you in the eye, a sign that he's understands. The fence then speaks to the people he's playing cards with "Well, it's getting late for me chaps. I'll play a few hands tomorrow, give you a chance to win it back." The other two men playing throw down their cards and are annoyed at this.

The fence turns to Mikkel "How's it going, got any stories to tell?" (What's the job?)

Shawn - Still out of the loop will just hold silent for this

Todd - "Got a dumb one about a sailor." (Exchange of goods) "Skinny little guy" (No labor needed)

DM - "You there, soldier, want to play a few hands?"

"Tell me over a smoke friend!" (Lets talk in private, Interested) He says and pulls a pipe out of his pocket. He stands and offers for you to lead the way to the door out of the public house.

Todd - Mikkel follows his lead, scanning for people watching or perhaps anyone in similar garb to the fence.

Shawn - Utterly confused, follows the two

Todd - Our thief winks at Va'lar

DM - Mikkel doesn't spot any one as he leaves out the door. Once outside the fence leads you around the side of the building before holding a hand out "Azik. What kind of goods are you moving?"

Shawn - Finally catching onto the what was happening he'd relax a bit, leaning back and letting Mikkel do the talking

Todd - "Armor, might need arms. You buying?"

DM - "I have some coin and can source arms. What are you selling?"

Todd - "Chainmail"

DM - "I can buy a quality set for 140, Gotta make my cut on the sale too."

Todd - "A sample..." Mikkel says quietly while bringing out his chainmail from his pack and motioning Azik to take a look.

DM - Azik looks it over, flips it once in his hands. "This is very nice, I can give 140 for it. Where did you get this from?"

Todd - Mikkel scratches a 'y' shape mark on his cheek and inhales sharply. (Slang for 'Y' are you asking?)

DM - Azik says out loud, "I have to make my sale to someone who isn't looking for the goods, fool. Is this local?"

Shawn - Shakes his head "Nah, they're from down south"

DM - "You'll need to be more specific, this isn't from the wagon that got hit is it?" Azik asks Mikkel

Todd - "Nope"

DM - Azik smiles "You have a deal my friend." and he starts counting out coins from a pouch worn inside his shirt.

Todd - Mikkel nods approvingly and carefully watches the coin counting

DM - He counts out all the coins in stacks of 20, You're sure he didn't skimp you. "Now that we're done here, I'll be off with this."

Todd - "Azik, can I ask you a few questions?"

DM - "Sure, What do you need?"

Todd - "How long does it take to get a buyer?"

DM - "Out here? A while. I'm in the middle of nowhere. Up north in Gorn I'd have better luck but they're looking for me right now."

Todd - "Oh, so you wouldn't want to keep too much chain mail on your person. Might look for another buyer for the rest then..."

DM - "Not for this, I have some people in mind already." Azik says with a smile

Todd - "Well well well, so where are my three other chain mails gonna gooooo"

DM - Three? You have three more with you?" He says, glancing at Va'lar

Todd - "Maybe we do." Mikkel continues in a playful tone, he will scan his surroundings again.

DM - "And maybe I'm all out of coin." Azik says in a mimic'd playful tone.

Todd - "Ha ha. There's three, my coworker will gladly exchange them for your coin"

Shawn - With that he'd pull out the next three "We could always managed to uh...stumble upon some more if you are interested"

DM - Azik grips a dagger at his hip and backs up as Va'lar pulls the chainmail out "Don't move so quick and talk about my coin!"

Shawn - Takes a small step back, trying to force out a small laugh "I'll talk less then"

DM - "I'll buy the other three, but I don't have the coin now. Give me a couple hours and I'll be back. You two staying in a room here?"

Todd - "We're leaving in two days, going to need to finish this exchange tomorrow or the morning after that."

DM - "I'll be back tomorrow then, we'll finish the trade then." Azik then looks around a bit, "I'll take this with me, Hang on to the rest."

Todd - "Understood. Plenty of fish in the next town (Safe travels sir)" (Goodbye, formal version)

DM -"Safe travels." Azik says, walking away from the public house to the woods.
